Fractional CO2 Laser Skin Resurfacing Oakland, NJ
Skin Resurfacing with Fractional CO2 Laser
Over time, skin’s youthful appearance and texture is affected by cumulative effects of collagen and moisture loss, sun exposure, acne, and more. Skin resurfacing can greatly improve many skin conditions such as fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars, and textural irregularities. Resurfacing also encourages new collagen and elastin production and can tighten the skin.
Great results achieved in one treatment!
Clients can expect to see a significant improvement
in skin tone, texture, and a reduction in the appearance of sun damage, age spots, and wrinkles and fine lines in just one treatment with minimal downtime.
How does it work?
During the procedure a high energy-beam of laser light is used to smooth out lines, wrinkles and scars, remove brown spots and other irregularities, and tighten skin. As the microscopic holes produced by the laser heal, new younger-looking skin is revealed and collagen is stimulated deep within your skin.
The benefits are twofold:
1) The upper layer of your skin, the epidermis, is where we see most of the visible signs of sun damage and aging. About 3-4 days after the procedure, you will begin to peel this layer of skin. This means most of the fine lines, age spots and rough texture will be removed. You will be left with fresher, radiant new skin. This alone will take years off your appearance!
2) The laser also delivers heat deep down into the lower layer of your skin, the dermis. It is here that your skin cells manufacture collagen – the protein building block of your skin. As we age, our collagen breaks down causing our skin to wrinkle and sag. The heat the laser delivers into the dermis causes some of the collagen bundles in the dermis to straighten and causes an immediate skin tightening effect. The heat also stimulates the skin cells to make new collagen. This effect starts at about 3-4 weeks after the procedure and will go on for months.
The results can be enhanced by the addition of your Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) applied topically right after the treatment. A small amount of your blood is drawn and the platelets, rich in growth factors and stem cells, are separated from other matter in your blood using a centrifuge. PRP will accelerate the healing process and ultimately result in an improved final outcome. Using PRP after laser resurfacing is also known as the celebrity “Vampire Facial”.
Results of the CO2 laser resurfacing are long-term and with proper sun protection can last for many years.
