IPL (Intense Pulse Light) Oakland, NJ
Dr. Song uses Lumecca™, the most advanced intense pulsed light (IPL) system, ideal for correcting skin concerns ranging from redness, light acne scars and rosacea, to broken capillaries and hyper-pigmentation (sun damage and age spots). Lumecca uses a powerful light to penetrate below the surface of the skin to eliminate brown spots and broken capillaries that make skin appear older and damaged. IPL also reduces the appearance of pores and makes the skin look brighter and clearer.
Lumecca can be used on all areas of the body. The most common areas of treatment are zones that are regularly exposed to the sun. These often include the face, neck, décolleté, legs, hands and arms.
Immediately following an IPL treatment, a patient is free to resume his or her daily activities. A brief period of redness is the most common side effect of the treatment and this can easily be covered up with foundation or concealer until the redness subsides, usually within a day or two.
The treated spots may begin to darken and this typically subsides within a few hours. Over the course of the next one to three weeks, the darkened spots will fade and flake off.
More than one treatment may be needed for optimum results.
