Laser Hair Removal Oakland, NJ

Laser Hair Removal

When Omni Aesthetics first started offering Laser Hair Removal Services back in 2007, bulky, outdated laser machines were pretty much the standard of care in the Bergen County and northern New Jersey areas. These lasers were extremely painful and very limited in the skin types they could treat.

Aesthetic specialist Dr. William Song was one of the first physicians to offer the Soprano XL laser hair removal treatments for patients in Bergen County, NJ. The latest version of this laser (Soprano Xli ICE) continues to be the the gold standard for laser hair removal because we can safely treat all skin types and deliver enough energy to give you the best possible results. We now have four different lasers to most accurately target even the most stubborn hair.

We are very aware of the explosion of clinics that are now offering laser hair removal at rock bottom prices. We believe that our prices are very fair considering the top quality of our machines, our extensive experience and commitment to safety and results. Therefore, we do not attempt to compete on price with clinics that use cheap and unsafe lasers operated without physician supervision.

If you are looking for the lowest prices, you can take your chances on the daily deal sites like Groupon and Living Social. If you are looking for true value, safety and real results, call us and schedule a free consultation. We will evaluate your hair and skin and tell you if you are a good candidate. We will tell you what kind of results you can realistically expect and what the treatment will cost. Even if you decide to have your treatment elsewhere, you deserve to know exactly what you are paying for.

I had laser hair removal in several areas and Dr. Song and his staff did a great job!

Q. How much does laser hair removal cost?

A. The cost is going to depend on the area you want treated. For example, an underarm treatment (both sides) cost $150 per treatment. Full legs will cost $525 per treatment. Discounts are available for multiple areas. This is just to give you an idea, if you want an exact quote please schedule a consultation so that we can evaluate you and tell you what your actual cost will be.

Q. How many treatments will I need?

A. Hair grows in different cycles so we need to do multiple treatments to treat all the cycles of growth. Typically, facial hair requires 8 treatments one month apart followed by maintenance treatments every 3-4 months. Other body areas require about 6 treatments 6-8 weeks apart followed by 1-3 maintenance treatments per year. These are general guidelines, individual treatment requirements may vary depending on the rate that your body makes new hair.

Q. Why do I need maintenance?

A. Lasers can only target and destroy hair that is actively growing. Lasers are very precise and when performed correctly, there should be no scarring on or under the skin. Since the skin itself is not damaged, the treatment will not prevent the body from making new hair in the same area. Over time new hair follicles will sprout, requiring periodic maintenance. Electrolysis, on the other hand, will cause some microscopic tissue destruction around the follicle, making the area inhospitable for new hair growth, and therefore, tends to be more permanent.

Q. Does laser hair removal hurt?

A. Our Soprano Xli ice laser combined with the Zimmer cryo cooler is the least painful way that we have found to perform laser hair removal. The laser company promotes this laser as a pain free hair removal device. We have found that, although we can make the treatment painless, you will require a lot more sessions. By cranking up the energy to what you can tolerate, we are able to get faster and better results. Most people who have had treatments with other lasers report about 80% less discomfort with our system.

Q. I saw a Groupon for six laser hair removal sessions for $99, can you do any better?

A. No.

Q. What are the risks of laser hair removal?

A. The biggest risk of any laser treatment is burns. If the wrong laser or settings are used for your skin type, you could receive a burn which can be anything from a sunburn-like reaction to blistering or even charring of the skin. Burns can lead to permanent scarring and pigment changes. Burns tend to occur when counterfeit lasers or improperly maintained devices are used or when treatment is performed by technicians with poor training. (This should help explain the answer to the previous question).

Q. I had six sessions of laser hair removal elsewhere and was told that I am a non-responder. Is it worth trying again?

A. People with blond or grey hair will not respond to laser hair removal. Light brown or red hair usually do not respond well. Very fine, velvety hair tend to respond very poorly to laser treatments. These people are easily screened out and should not be treated. Although it is true that some people with dark hair will not respond to laser hair removal, true non-responders in this category are very rare. If you have dark thick hair, it may be worth trying one treatment with our laser in a small area. So far all the patients we treated who have been told they were non-responder responded very well to treatment. (This is not counting the patients that we determined should not ever have been treated in the first place).

Q. Do you offer package discounts?

A. Because everyone’s treatment requirements vary, we do not sell packages of treatment sessions.
We quite often see patients who bought a package of multiple sessions at deep discounts only to find out that their clinic went out of business. We do offer some discounts for multiple areas booked at the same time.

Q. How do I book an appointment?

A. You must come in for a consultation at our office in Bergen County, New Jersey so that we can determine if you are a good candidate for laser hair removal. The purpose of the consultation is not to sell you on the procedure, it is to screen out the people we think will be wasting their money and to give you honest answers and realistic expectations. We are not going to treat you if we do not think you will have a good response.
