Autocorre™ FAQ's
Q: How is AutoCorre gel different from PRF Gel
A: Most preparations of PRF gels use heat to thicken the plasma so that it becomes a gel. The heating process inactivates most of the growth factors, significantly reducing the regenerative properties. AutoCorre takes the plasma gel and adds ultra concentrated, uncooked PRP back into the gel after it cools off. This causes the fresh platelets and growth factors to become trapped inside the gel. The embedded platelets will release growth factors slowly over time to attract stem cells and stimulate new collagen production. This is a much more advanced way to naturally add volume and rejuvenate skin.
Q: How long do the results last?
A: AutoCorre treatments are meant to restore your natural cellular function in the skin, fat and vasculature. The AutoCorre Fat transfer can give you lifelong improvement, but you can always add more if you are looking for more volume. We advise waiting at least 6 months before adding more. The results are cummulative. The AutoCorre gel treatment results will last 1-2 years and can be repeated after 6 months for more dramatic results.
Q: How much does a treatment cost?
A: Treatment cost will vary depending on how much you are looking to do and on wether you use the gel or your own fat. When compared to dermal fillers Autocorre is a much better value because, in order to get similar results with dermal fillers, you will need between 5-10 syringes of filler. Please call our office or schedule a consultation for pricing.
Q: How is this different from a Vampire Facelift?
A: We still do Vampire Facelifts! Vampire facelift uses dermal filler combined with PRP to give similar results. The advantage of AutoCorre is that instead of the filler, we use a gel made from your own plasma so it is all natural.
Q: How is this different from using fillers or Sculptra?
A: Dermal fillers like hyaluronic acid can migrate or cause allergic reactions and granulomas. Plus, as mentioned above, it will cost much more to get the same results. The new trend is to move away from fillers and use autologous treatments like AutoCorre. Sculptra is a collagen stimulator, but it works by injecting a foreign substance to produce collagen by creating irritation under the skin. Also, Sculptra will cost considerably more to achieve similar results.
Q: Is AutoCorre the same thing as EZ PRF?
A: No, Autocorre is not just a heated PRF. AutoCorre gel is made by combining the plasma gel with fresh ultra concentrated PRP. The fresh PRP is much more active in releasing growth factors than the PRF gel and it is time released in the gel so you will get better results and better longevity.
Q: Is AutoCorre safe?
A: When compared to dermal fillers, AutoCorre is considerably safer. Because it is autologous, which means the ingredients come from your own body, the risk of an allergic reaction or your body rejecting it is extremely low. The AutoCorre gel is self correcting, so you don't have to worry about unevenness and bad results like you do with fillers. We use a blunt cannula to perform the injections, so the risk of injecting into a blood vessel is extremely low but it is probably not zero, so you do need to make sure that the injector is experienced and properly trained. The AutoCorre Fat treatment is more permanent so you will definitely want a well trained injector.
Q: What if it gets injected into an artery?
A: The use of a blunt cannula makes vascular occlusion less likely. However, this is always a risk with any kind of injection, even PRP. Again, the experience and training of the injector is the biggest factor that will prevent unwanted side effects and bad results. unlike fillers, AutoCorre gel is made from your blood which naturally exists inside you blood vessels, so your body knows how to break it down. Blood thinners used to treat blood clots may need to be administered if a clot or occlusion were to occur.
