​How is Liposuction at Omni Aesthetics different than other med spas?

Liposuction is not what it used to be. It's better. Much better!  In the not too distant past, if you wanted to remove fat from your body, it meant major surgery. You would have to go under general anesthesia and then endure weeks, maybe even months, of down time. The old liposuction was more about debulking rather than shaping. With new advances in technique and technology, we can now perform liposuction under local anesthesia and you can walk out of the procedure and go back to your normal activities as soon as the next day. With these techniques, the results can be significantly superior to the results with the old school liposuction.

Tumescent anesthesia. 
One of the biggest advances in liposuction is the use of a technique called tumescent anesthesia. Instead of putting the patient under general anesthesia, we take IV fluid and add a numbing agent called lidocaine and a medication called epinephrine to constrict the blood vessels with some sodium bicarbonate to buffer the pH of the solution. This solution is gently infused into the area to be treated. The solution diffuses into the fatty tissue and completely numbs the treatment area. This allows the doctor to work on getting your fat out and sculpting your body with no pain. Most patients choose to be wide awake and are having conversations with the doctor and the OR staff throughout the procedure. Being awake means we can stand you up to see how the treatment is coming along and make adjustments on the spot if we need too. Being awake means no risk of blood clots from lying in the same position and it means you don't have to worry about not eating anything before or after the procedure. You can have a light breakfast or lunch before you come.

Power assisted liposuction.

One of the technologies we use at Omni Aesthetics is a tool called "Vaser Lipo." This device uses ultrasonic energy break up the fat inside your body so that the fat can be removed with smaller instruments. The vibrating motion of the Vaser Lipo allows us to shape and contour the fat as we are removing it. Because you are numbed, it does not hurt.

Skin Tightening. 

One of the challenges of liposuction is that when we remove the fat, the skin deflates like a ballon and you could be left with saggy skin. We can address this problem with the help of modern technology. This is a device called Renuvion® a.k.a. J-Plasma®. Renuvion uses ionized helium gas to create an energy called "Plasma" the Plasma energy can be delivered into the liposuctioned area and stimulate the collagen and elastic tissue to tighten as we are performing the procedure. The tightening continues for months after the treatment so that you are not left with hanging skin, even after significant amounts of fat is removed. ​

Safety.

General anesthesia is the riskiest part of most cosmetic procedures. By performing the treatment under local anesthesia, we eliminate the risk of general anesthesia. Because we don't need to put you under, you will not have the added cost of an anesthesiologist and hospital facility fees. The procedure is done in our outpatient facility so you also avoid the risk of hospital acquired infections. The entry sites are very small and in most cases, we do not even need to put in any stitches.

Fast Recovery. 

 All of our patient walk out of the office and spend the rest of the day resting. Most of our patients are back to performing all their normal activities by the second day. The bruising is minimal because the epinephrin and the laser closes down the blood vessels that typically cause bleeding during a traditional liposuction procedure.

Shaping a body requires artistic skills as well as medical knowledge. We take pride in spending the time and using the most sophisticated equipment to give you the best possible results. High definition liposuction is a special technique we use to define the underlying muscle contours that are revealed after your liposuction.

What is 1 Hour Lipo?

In about the same time it takes to do one cycle of CoolSculpting we can remove 10x as much fat with our "One Hour Lipo". Using a technique called Tumescent Anesthesia, we completely numb the area we want to remove the fat from without having to put you under. Although mild sedation is available, most people choose not to have any sedation at all. You don't need it! We use the most advanced power assisted liposuction technology to quickly remove the fat without leaving lumps bumps and irregularities that are so common after traditional liposuction. The recovery is really easy. Most people are back to work in 1 to 3 days. If you want to treat multiple body parts at once including our 'Lipo 360" or "High Def Lipo" it will take longer and you will need sign up for a 2 hour or 3 hour Lipo. You can even choose to do multiple 1 hour sessions over time. The results are permanent as long as you maintain your weight. With our Power Assisted Liposuction (PAL) technique, we can remove 10 times as much fat as we can with one cycle of CoolSculpting. We have multiple CoolSculpting Machines so can do multipole cycles of Coolsculpting (up to 4 cycles at a time), but we can still do a better job with our liposuction and you can see results immediately. We can actually sculpt with PAL to create cuts and curves that are not possible with non-invasive treatments. 

What is Hi-Def Liposuction?

High Def Lipo is a specialized procedure where we can actually etch the skin to let the definition of the muscles show through. We can create six pack abs with this technique. We use the Vaser ultrasound device to perform high def liposuction. This is something we can do for people who are already in great shape and want definition. There is an extra charge for the etching with Vaser. We also have Trusculpt Flex® which is a non-invasive device that helps to tone and define your muscles. This can be done after liposuction or as a stand alone treatment for people who don't need liposuction.
