Q: What areas can be treated with fat transfer? A: Fat transfer is commonly used for facial rejuvenation—cheeks, temples, under eyes, jawline, and lips—but can also be used to enhance hands, breasts, or buttocks.
Q: How long do the results last? A: Unlike fillers, fat transfer results can be long-lasting. A portion of the transferred fat establishes a new blood supply and becomes permanent. With proper care, results can last many years.
Q: Is fat transfer safe? A: Yes. Because it uses your own fat (autologous tissue), there’s no risk of allergic reaction or rejection. At Omni Aesthetics, the procedure is performed under local anesthesia using gentle, proven techniques for optimal safety and comfort.
Q: Will all the fat survive after it’s transferred? A: Not all transferred fat survives. Typically, 60–80% of the fat becomes permanently established. Dr. Song’s expertise helps maximize survival rates through precise technique and regenerative support.
Q: What is the recovery time? A: Most patients experience mild swelling and bruising for 5–10 days. Downtime is minimal, and many return to normal activities within a week.

Q: Can I drive myself home after the procedure? A: Because there is no general anesthesia involved, many patients choose to drive themselves to and from the procedure. However, we do recommend having a driver if possible because, if you would like to take a little anti anxiety medication for the procedure, we will not be able to let you drive.
Q: Can fat transfer be combined with other treatments? A: Yes. Fat transfer is often combined with treatments like PRP, Sylfirm X, or skin tightening for enhanced results. Dr. Song will design a custom plan based on your goals.
Q: How much fat is needed? The amount of fat required depends on the area being treated and your desired level of enhancement. A: For facial fat transfer, only a small amount is needed—typically a few tablespoons—to restore volume in areas like the cheeks, temples, jawline, or under-eyes. For breast enhancement, a moderate volume is typically required—anywhere from 100cc to 300cc of purified fat per breast. This can create a natural-looking increase in size and improve shape or asymmetry. For buttock augmentation (Brazilian Butt Lift using fat), a larger volume is needed—often 300cc to 800cc or more per side, depending on your body type and desired outcome.
